| A Trip to Ngozi | 26-Jun-2007 | The staff set up team went upcountry to Ngozi and Gitega to finalize plans for the teams that will be visiting those cities. The staff was blessed and challenged during our trip.
NGOZI – Street boy
Leaving the hotel on the way to a meeting we saw a young boy around 9 years old who was filthy head to toe and wearing tattered clothing. We stopped to speak with him and he told us that his mother had died and his father was in prison. He also said that he lived in a ditch with several other kids. We asked him if he knew that there was a God in heaven who loved him and his response was, “who is He I have never heard anything about him.” We were shocked at his response! He had never heard one thing about God. We shared with him the love of Jesus and blessed him with some money, but we left off with a sadness in our hearts remembering that we need to continue to cry out for this country. We know that only God can do something to save and help this child.
NGOZI – New Life Church
Our outreach teams leader shared about the evangelistic rallies and outreaches, and encouraged the local church to come out with us and catch the vision of evangelizing in their own communities. The pastor told the leader to continue and preach to the congregation. He encouraged them to share the gospel with people, even if they did not have a burden, were afraid or felt unqualified. The Holy Spirit fell on the people. Most of the congregation came forward, weeping and crying out, asking God to give them a burden for their people.
