We Love Africa04-Jul-2007
When the plane landed in Bujumbura, we all felt an incredible sense of awe. God had brought us here, and in spite of the long journey, we could not wait to step out of the plane and unto this land called Burundi. The sky was overcast, with a pleasant breeze blowing that took the edge off the humidity. The large group waited patiently to go through customs and sort through the luggage arriving at the tiny airport.

Upon exiting the building we heard a sound that reassured us we were indeed in Africa. Drums. A group of about 12 tribal drummers, representing multiple tribes, greeted us with an incredible display of their artistry. When they finished with the large wooden drums balanced upon their heads as they marched around in a circle to make their exit, we all scrambled to get pictures with them, including the little boy about eight years old who performed with them. We love Africa.
