| Supernatural Strength | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Buja A God is so faithful! The last two days, I struggled with physical and mental fatigue. Both days, I was completely worn out by lunch time. I felt like I had nothing left to give physically, and wished we could just return to the hotel. Today, things got even worse. I had an upset stomach and couldn't return water very well. I was afraid to be in the hot sun all day in that condition. Before we got to the clinic, several people on my team prayed for me to be healed. As soon as we reached the medical clinic, I completely forgot about how sick I was. I had a chance to speak to a group of people about who we were and why we were here, and they were so blessed. We also worshipped together in Kirundi. Four hours passed and I was fine! When lunch time came, I began to feel sick again, but as I left to go back to the clinic, I prayed and asked God to give me supernatural strength. As soon as I left the building I felt better, and was able to work for another several hours without feeling sick at al, and to really bond with the kids in the pediatric unit, even though they had much more energy than I thought I had. So today, although I was sick, I felt better than I had the first two day when I wasn't sick! God answered my prayers right on time. |
| There was hope in once vacant eyes | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Prison Ministry Today we went to our first prison in Ngozi. It was an all male prison. When the team was waiting outside of the doors while they set up, we could see the men just clamoring at the gate, eagerly waiting for us. The hunger was so evident in their eyes. Once we entered in, we had to walk through large crowds, as the courtyard was completely packed to the point that men had climbed walls to hold on to the bars of the window.
Once the worship started, we began to see the hardened faces melt. They began to dance and clap with us. The word and testimonies were brought forth and many hands went up to accept Jesus Christ.
The Burundian women were such a blessing to the team. While we were exiting, there was hope in once vacant eyes.
In the evening, we went to a church. It was a small church that was visited by the Holy Ghost. Our team went up and sang a few songs in Kurundi. The church came alive. The Holy Spirit poured came down and the oil of gladness was upon the people. Ray, who has a powerful testimony but had just tearfully shared it with the team over lunch, shared at the church. The lights went out a few times, but His word still swept over the people. It was a great evening.

| Forgiveness | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Ngozi B Today we worked with the medical team. In the morning I assisted in the pharmacy and in the afternoon I assisted in the counseling and prayer station.
It was a blessing to interact with the people and share the love of Christ with them and pray for them. There was one particular lady who was about 50 years old. When she came to us she said that she wanted to confess a sin. She lives near the Rwandan border and had come with some people to the clinic.
She said that the people she came with were treated the day before and left without her and now she had no way of getting home, but wanted to ask forgiveness for the bitterness in her heart towards the people who left her stranded.
We prayed with her and she went to the pharmacy to get her medication. But God moved on my heart to try to assist her to get home. She had half of the fare she needed for the journey. I spoke to some people to make sure it was okay to her some assistance,
After she got her medication I called her aside and was able to provide her with the remainder of the fare she needed to get home.
She was so thankful that she immediately dropped to her hands and knees on the floor and began thanking God for the miracle. - Renee B.

| It was the work of the Lord. | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Prison Ministry What a mighty God we serve! Lord, I know the angels were rejoicing today. The team started our day at the hotel. We began to worship and the spririt of the living God fell. It turned into a time of worship and breakthrough. We were singing and dancing with the joy of the Lord! Afterwards, we headed to the woman's prison. There are about 50 women in this facility. From the moment we got there, we felt His holy presence. The women and thier young children listened attentively while a testimony and exhortation was given. The word was brought forth and the women were set free. We saw lives changed before our very eyes. More than 1/2 of the women wanted to give thier lives to Jesus. There was a shout of glory that went up.
Afterwards, Sister Teresa, Tom Larkin, and people from the team came and shared about prayer. Then they told the women that they were going to be provided with a month of food and clothing. They thanked the Lord, the children laughed and all were joyous. It was the work of the Lord.

| The Lord had touched her | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Ngozi A Me and Sonia Mikanagu and an interpreter (both Burundian) did some door-to-door evangelism in Ngosi. Just a few yards from where were were dropped off, there stood a woman at her doorway with a sad, discouraged face. We agreed that this would be the person we'd minister to. She invited us in and we noticed that there was a younger woman sitting on the grass, looking very fatigued (we later found out that she was having symptoms of malaria). We prayed for her (she happended to be a Christian) but her mom wasn't - they were visibly touched, with tears dropping from the eyes as we shared songs, prayers and the word. A group gathered and we ministered to them too. In the midst of it all, I noticed the young woman wasn't sitting in the spot - later we saw her walking with a smile. The Lord had touched her, and her mom, who wasn't a believer, acknowledged the goodness of Jesus. |
| The Power of God | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Ngozi A We went to the place called Masansanzira and the Lord delivered people from evil spirits. Four ladies gave thier lives to God as they were convicted by our testimonies. |
| It was the first time I shared my testimony | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Ngozi A God continued to pour out his love today in Ngozi. We returned today to the Four Square Church, where our Burundian brothers and sisteres once again recieved us with songs of welcoming and worship. Most of the team members gave their personal testimonies on how Jesus came into thier lives. It was the first time I shared my testimony. It is also my first missions trip. God is doing so many awesome things! |
| God showed up | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Ngozi B Today, we worked with the medical team and God showed up. We worked in various areas and helped to minister to the people. I had the opportunity to pray for a lady who had been left behind by her friends and had no way to get home because she only had half of the required fare. God prompted me to assist her with the remainder of her fare. When we called her aside later to offer her the assistance she immediately fell to her hands and knees and cried out to God, thanking Him for the miracle he had just performed in her life! Praise God! |
| The difference between Christian doctors and regular doctors | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Medical - Buja "Wow! That’s the difference between Christian doctors and regular doctors”, said my interpreter. “Christian doctors rely on the Lord for wisdom, while regular doctors rely on their own wisdom.” That comment made such a great impact on me. God is so awesome!

| Three Muslim young men | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Medical - Buja On Saturday I had my devotion time on the beach. Three Muslim young men (19–20 yrs. old) from the University saw me reading my Bible and asked, “what is that book?” I said, “the Bible.” They asked, “can we read?” I said, “yes.” I opened my Bible to John 3:16 and prayed for them. |
| Greetings | 07-Jul-2007 | Team: Medical - Buja To my staff Cesar, Lee, David: It’s incredible. The Lord is doing an awesome work in Burundi. Thanks, keep praying! Thanks for helping me pack dental supplies.
