I am a sinner12-Jul-2007
Team: Ngozi A
Praises and all the glory to God! Truly we are seeing our prayers being answered in an awesome way. Today we were on our way to the Epamabru Church in North Bukirasqzi, Buja. On our way we stopped to ask about the church’s location. Our leader, Dolores stepped out to ask and soon we found ourselves all on the streets preaching. There was one man who I felt who had a lot of bitterness in his heart. I was led by the spirit to share a part of my testimony and how God had changed my life. He bowed his head and told us that he was a sinner. I told him that this was the reason Jesus had died for him. Humbly he received Christ as his savior and he repented from his sins. God is wonderful. All honor to Him. It’s all about Jesus. -Janette N.

God is looking for the one12-Jul-2007
Team: Medical - Buja
Under a toasting Burundian sun, in a small sea of about 400 people, God has me obsessivly looking for the One. Not Jesus, not the Holy Spirit - the simple one. A lost sheep, an old man with the biggest hernia the medical team has seen so far. They were impressed by the size of his ailment - and we coldn't treat him becuase we'd come upon him at the very end of the day. Everyone wants him to be operated on - so does he - desparately, I'm sure.
But, Novence, my interpreter, and I have now toured the whole compound - twice. We've asked a dozen or so men thier names. Nothing. No Alphonse. He was by the gate this morning early someone said, but he must have been swallowed by the desperate crowd.
No worries, the Lord knows exactly where he is doubled nearly to his ankles, taking centimeter steps ahead, dressed in his dark blue and striped long sleeve polyester shirt. Smouldering under the burning sun. God knows where Alphonse is - inching away helped by his tall stick. The Lord is the Master Scheduler. We will find Alphonse.

Leslie - This was on trip where you'd have been a perfect golden ray in the pressed, dense, and dark medical clinic. So many things to do, people to organize, schedules to settle, prayers to pray, hands to lay. Luly, Treg, Emma and I have missed you in this wonderful Godly explosion.

A Pocketknife And Some Band Aids12-Jul-2007
Team: Medical - Ngozi
Today the team went to the Twa village in Bujumbura. We had only the most basic medication and supplies with us. A woman was brought to the team dentist with a horrible, degenerative disease that eats away the facial tissue and leaves the victim with a gaping hole in the face. The doctor said we had to find a way to close the hole, but we had no scalpel or bandages and the equipment we did have was less than ideal. One of the team members had a pocket knife and the doctor managed to operate using only the knife and much prayers. The hole was closed and the team used gauze and simple Band Aids to dress the wound. We praise God for His provision out of nothing!
