Alabama May 2012 | Women of God in Motion Day 1

We are finally here!! Welcome to Alabama y’all! Looking forward to what is ahead and forgetting what has been left behind!

God couldn’t have picked a better team! Through our meetings, prayers, fellowships, ministry and wonderful leadership, God has molded us for His purposes in Alabama and our hearts are full of anticipation! Big ‘ole soup of wonderful! Can you see it ?! I can!

Next Stop .. Hosanna Home;  where the North meets the South..should be interesting ;)

Sandy already made herself at home :/ jajajaja

These are a few glimpses of the wonderful home God has built for the women in Hosanna Home.  This place is where the women gather for morning devotionals.. Standing here, you feel the love and devotion that was put into building this home. The wood for this nook was donated by a man whose house had burned down.

Through these doors is Hope’s Inn. It is a clinic where volunteer doctors serve the community who do not have health insurance. They are already booked through September of 2012.

Moment caught between mommy (Lorena) and son who, like all boys, has super powers, and like all moms, he is well encouraged.  He happens to be Batman and has taken on Spiderman’s superpowers!

So for the WOMEN of GOD In Motion Day 1…

We arrived to Hosanna Home to find just that, a home.  A home that gives hope and love to a group of wonderful and beautiful women who otherwise would be lost in their addiction or in jail.  Women who have endured so much and yet have so much to give. We spent the day touring Hosanna Home, eating, touring some more and eating, oh and yeah, eating some more..lol. Here is a picture

Oh yeah! First taste of some Southern cookin.. I’m in trouble! 0.O

So we got  ourselves settled in (my room and roomie are the best ;) ) and rested well for church the next day. Looking to spend more time with all the girls.

Veronica

Photo of the Week | Rescue Iraq

In November we will be returning to Iraq.

One hour from the borders of Turkey and Iran sits the small town of Soran. Almost completely destroyed by Sadaam Hussein in the 1980s, this town in northern Iraq is home to a large population of widows and orphans as well as refugees fleeing persecution in Iran. Despite the tragedy of the past and challenges of the present, God is beginning to open new doors. Join us in the ground-breaking work. Click here to register.

Greece April 2012 | Day 9

The last day of our time in Greece, our team sailed on the Aegean Sea and met the shores of the island of Hydra. Hydra really charms its visitors by its peculiar and unique beauty. A small island, with absolutely no cars-something which is very rarely met all over the world. Donkeys are the means of transportation at this destination. Narrow cobblestone streets, a natural seaport and white-washed painted houses with colorful touches here and there create an original picture. This beautiful little island is welcomed by thousands of tourists throughout the spring and summer season. Our team was refreshed as we explored the island, braved a challenging horse ride, shopped for traditional souvenirs, and ate at a Greek seaside restaurant. We also topped it off with delicious Greek gelato! Poli kala!!! ( aka ….Very Good!)  What a wonderful way to end our journey here in Greece…..

Greece April 2012 | Day 8

Today was our actual last day of ministry at the Mercy Center. Throngs of homeless/ addicted and some Afghani people were invited to come and partake with us for a celebration on the roof-top of the Mercy Center building. The Mercy Center men along with some of the TSC team, assembled tents and lined up rows and rows of chairs in preparation. During our previous week here in Athens, we distributed invitations for this particular annual event. To our amazement, many of our special guests arrived eager to hear the Good News and to eat a feast of grilled lamb and an array of other traditional Greek food. Our team performed our drama for the last time~it was a sweet day of fellowship but also, we knew the time was drawing near to say our farewells to the guys who reside at the Mercy Center in just one short day…..

Video of the Week | ChildCry Benefit Concert

Who loves good music? We do! Support ChildCry, a TSC Ministry, by coming out to the Patrick Andy concert. Patrick Andriantsialonina, aka Patrick Andy, was born and raised in Madagascar. He began playing guitar at a young age, and bass at 17. It wasn’t long before he began playing with Madagascar’s most prominent artists. Soon thereafter, music would take him abroad to places like Paris, Switzerland and his soon to be home New York City.

RSVP on Facebook.
