Today we spent some time with the children at the House of Hope Orphanage. You will never meet another group of children that radiate such peace and love. We came to show them love and bring them joy; ultimately thats what they brought us.
We sang songs with them and they sang songs for us—if it were a competition they would have been the winners (see video link below). We worked on crafts with them, and painted their faces, and more.
Here is a link to a video of the children of the House of Hope singing for us.

Today was our last day with the kids from the red light district. We assisted Nina Zaragoza as she lead 21 kids into prayer, worship, reading, and other activities. Nina’s from TSC on a long term stay, establishing educational and spiritual curriculum for these children. The way she handles the kids and how they respond to her is something to experience. She is truly anointed and I thank God for her life and for answering the call that was put in her heart for Pune. Many are called, but few are chosen, and much fewer put their faith into action.
The team had a heavy heart as we laid our hands and prayed over them for the final time. Already missing them and knowing the conditions that they are left with, I couldn’t help the tears from falling; I wanted to take them all, including their mothers, back to New York. But our God is good, their fates are in His hands, and I know that He will continue to keep His sights on them and all of Pune.
“It is good to be tired and wearied by the futile search after the true good, that we may stretch out our arms to the Redeemer.” – Blaise Pascal.

Today we went to the English speaking Poona Faith Community Church followed by The Nepoli Church. While I was busy biting my nails in preparation to speak to the congregation Iberkys touched hearts with her testimony. Adriana, Larry, and Dell taught the Sunday school.
In the after school class at the salon last week the kids wrote stories. They created, we wrote. See the story Rohit did with Larry below.

Today we took a trip to a local water park with Sheela’s family, the salon workers, and Pastor Pradip’s children. Barbara our team leader told us not to feel guilty, Pastor Pradip confirmed that it’s not a sin to have fun.

We’re all becoming attached to the girls and the children of the Red Light. We’re starting to see that it is going to be difficult to leave them behind.
At this point we’ve all entered various brothels. Its the first time that any men have been allowed to go. It’s a visible result of all of the years of dedication by Sheila building relationships and trust with the girls.
Here is a link to a video of Sheila singing with a few of the older kids. It’s been a pleasure to hear her soothing voice, so I figured I would share.
