Full day of Pastors Conference
The Presence of the Lord is Here

Today was a full day at the Pastors Conference with three sessions, one in the morning and two in the afternoon. Approximately 500 pastors and leaders attended these day sessions. Teresa Conlon gave a strong message in the first session based on the life of Joseph. She challenged the pastors that everyone who says “God has called me is going to a God-appointed pit” and “the keeper of the prison is the Holy Ghost himself.”

Greg Thomas spoke to the pastors in the early afternoon session about “ministerial malpractice” based on his own experience at a young age with the leaders who had lost the way. He spoke against an American church that had become irrelevant by seeking to get people in “by any means necessary” and once in “keep them where they are.” He exhorted the Jamaican pastors not to adopt an ”American way” and get back to doing things “the Bible way.”

The conference ended with a stirring message from Pastor Carter on the tragedy of ministry exemplified by the life of Saul who led in fear rather than through trust in God. He warned that false spiritual reasoning leads to spoil and not to victory and ends up leading the people to materialism, the mark of ministers who are losing touch with God. Obedience, not ministry, is what counts.

Two-thirds of those present responded to the altar calls and a genuine moving of the Holy Spirit was felt in these sessions. As one Jamaican pastor put it, “the water level of the presence of God is rising every day as we head towards the crusade in Trench Town. God is about to do something in Jamaica!”

Outreach Teams Go Door-to-Door
God is Calling You to a Special Appointment

The outreach teams who have arrived in Jamaica went out to Trench Town today to go door-to-door inviting people to come to the crusade. Infused with a love and a boldness only the Holy Spirit can give, these teams shared Jesus and their testimonies with men, women and children in Trench Town. Some even came to the Lord as the team members explained that God is calling them to a “special appointment.” One outreach team leader pointed out “we learned today how real the barrier of fear is. It is going to take God’s spirit to move the people’s hearts to come.” The outreach teams are taking turns praying under the small tent set up in No Man’s Land where 250 people have already accepted the Lord.

This Rain is for You!
A Rasta Man Gives His Life to Jesus and Unwraps his Hair

Sometimes the outreach is right at home! Three outreach team leaders decided to wait out the afternoon thunderstorm in the terrace of the hotel by the door. The rain was hard and they thought people would think them crazy to be out there, when a Rasta man with his hair wrapped in a red cloth, joined them seeking shelter from the rain. The team leaders spoke with him and told him about Jesus, telling him God had caused this rain just for him to come to this divine appointment. He gave his heart to the Lord right then and there, unwrapped his hair, and raised his hands praising God!
