The TSC’ers Head for the Hills
A Day of R&R at Dunn River Falls and Kingston
One Hundred and twenty six TSC’ers boarded buses at 8:00 AM this morning to drive to the Dunn River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The crusade is over and this was our day to relax and fellowship. It was a beautiful drive through the Blue Mountains. We marveled at the dexterity of our driver as he maneuvered the narrow two lane mountain roads and photographed the massive tree roots of the Fern Gully, a stretch of road that had formally been a river and now was populated with many species of ferns.
Once there, the group braved the climb up the falls and lived to tell the tale. Those of us less inclined languished on the beach soaking in the sun and chatting with others similarly disposed. The ravenous were overjoyed to find excellent jerk chicken and pork to satisfy an already highly developed palate for Jamaican cuisine. All in all it was a good day. On the way back to Kingston our buses were detoured due to a flooded bridge, and as usual, all things worked together for good. We were treated to views of a splendid Jamaican country side filled with orange groves, graceful mountains and a smoldering sunset.
Those who did not go to Ocho Rios stayed behind sunbathing at the hotel or joined a city tour culminating with lunch in the mountains and ice cream at Devon House, the best place for ice cream in Jamaica. The tour was rained out but no one had any complaints about the ice cream!

Jamaica Night
We Acknowledge and Give Thanks
Tonight the entire TSC group, Pastor Carter and the members of the local pastors committee gathered at Fellowship Tabernacle (Fel Tab) for Jamaica Night, a night of celebration and thanksgiving. Rev. Al Miller, pastor of Fel Tab, was host for the evening. We enjoyed Jamaican language presentations and a skit on the history of Jamaica which was hilariously acted. The theme for Jamaica is “out of many, one people” which Rev. Al agreed could also be applied to TSC.
Pasto Nevil Owens, a member of the pastors committee also spoke giving an awesome testimony that according to the Kingston police, the crime rate in the Trench Town area had dropped 80% in the four days of the crusade! To God be the glory!
We feasted on Jamaican specialties and returned the thanks to the pastors committee and all the people who have helped TSC on Jamaica 2003 with gifts and blessings. We could not have done it without their tireless commitment to serve. As Rev. Al Miller remarked, TSC is now indelibly a part of Jamaican history. For all of us who came, Jamaica will always be a very special missions trip, as we were privileged to witness what we will be known in history as a revival.
