Dear Friend,
In The Gospel of Luke, we read that John the Baptist sent messengers to Jesus with a question, "Are you the Messiah we've been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?" (Luke 7:20, NLT). I wonder how many churches are visited each week, where honest seekers ask the same question, “Is Jesus here, or must we continue searching?”
Where Christ is, the answer is obvious. Jesus answered them, saying, "Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard--the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor” (Luke 7:22, NLT).
At Times Square Church we have witnessed the spiritually blind given sight, the powerless strengthened by the Holy Spirit, the bondage of unclean practices washed away, ears opened to the promises of the Bible, the dead in sin forgiven and raised to new life! Above all, everyone—including and especially the poor—are welcome here.
Where Jesus is, these are the conclusive evidences of His presence and work among those He loves. His response to John concluded with these words: “And blessed is he who is not offended because of me" (Luke 7:23, NKJV).
We rejoice to see and experience God’s work being done in our midst.
