Ministry Profile
The Nursing Home Ministry reaches out to the lonely and often neglected residents of nursing homes throughout New York City's five boroughs and in Connecticut. Volunteers visit with the elderly and disabled on a weekly or monthly basis to help ease the difficulties of their everyday living.
The call of this ministry is twofold: to develop relationships with the elderly by ministering to them through fellowship and bible studies and to prepare them for eternity by introducing them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Ministry members deliver home-cooked meals, assist residents unable to feed themselves at mealtime, and shop for the sick and shut-in. Volunteers also find time to talk, read, and sing to residents, developing friendships through time spent ministering the love of Christ to those approaching their final days.
