How We Support
TSC Missions and Harvest Evangelism, Rick Hagan's ministry, partnered to purchase a well-constructed but rundown building in the state of Alabama, to house transient families affected by Hurricane Katrina. Not only did they rebuild it, they transformed it into a beautiful, stately, furnished house for women and children displaced by the environmental catastrophes as well as the storms of life. This former-tuberculosis hospital now serves as home, playground, training and discipleship center, and medical clinic for those in residence.
The aim of Hope's Inn is to make women aware of their value as human beings and their worth to God and to others, says Linda Sullivan, Director of Hope's Inn who's also known as "Aunt" Linda.
Women came from all over the south eastern United States after the destructive storms left them without a home or a job. Hope's Inn currently houses forty women with children. They have luxurious capacity for forty and total capacity for seventy evacuees. There are fewer than one hundred rooms including a computer lab, a crafts room, a library, and laundry and exercise rooms. Much time is spent outdoors enjoying the good weather and working on the vegetable garden as the kids play.
Hope's Inn stands as a light and a trust in the midst of the storm-be it a hurricane or family hostility. The Inn is also a welcoming home to women and children fleeing abusive situations or domestic violence.
This place was built for the displaced and those dealing with the storms of life," says Aunt Linda, Our difference is that we help them revamp and start over. Many of our people have been abused so we tell them that God doesn't make junk, he loves them and is here for them.
