Guatemala WORLDWIDE MINISTRY SUPPORT |
 |
Who we serve Indigenous peoples living in remote mountain villages and river tributaries in Guatemala.
What our ministry provides
Participate in evangelism, medical clinic and dental
outreaches.
Help fund micro enterprise projects and agricultural
development programs, housing construction,
education and church planting.
How we support TSC Missions has come alongside a missionary family living in Guatemala that works with the indigenous peoples living in the remote mountain region outside the city of Zacapa, Guatemala. A major thrust of their work has been to:
Build new homes for the poorest families, provide medical and dental services, and run feeding
programs.
Teach different techniques in farming and better business practices to sell their produce in the
city.
Bring water and electricity to the villages on the mountain and provide training to make the
building blocks used to build homes.
Develop education programs in health and hygiene and provide alternative solutions that have
dramatically reduced the infant mortality rate on the mountain. For example: the open fires
traditionally used to cook food are slowly being replaced by low-cost, energy-efficient stoves.
The stoves have sharply decreased the incidence of respiratory diseases caused by smoke
inhalation and have also slowed deforestation of the environment.
TSC Missions helps local missionaries finance these projects and sends teams to help with the medical clinic, feeding program and building efforts. Funds provided by TSC Missions have already helped the missionaries to build a school and a church for the community.
