Located in Spanish Harlem, East Harlem Fellowship is a neighborhood church that was started in 1998, one month after the commencement of coffee house church services started. A group of volunteers from Times Square Church ran the coffee house as a place that welcomed kids to play games and adults time just to talk over free coffee and cookies.

Three months after the coffee house opened, a church service was added to the weekly schedule. Soon there was after school tutoring, English as a Second Language classes, Bible studies and programs for young people.
