East Harlem Fellowship opened its doors in 1988 as a planting ministry of Times Square Church. It began as a coffee house for the community. Coffee and pastries were offered; volunteers shared the gospel and gave a listening ear to the East Harlem Community. A few months later, Sunday service and Bible studies began. Today, East Harlem Fellowship is a small church that offers numerous services for everyone.

With a congregation made up of people with very diverse backgrounds, East Harlem Fellowship has a bright future with many goals for reaching and serving the community. In the near future, the Coffee House will be reestablished as well as a feeding program for children and families in the community.

The Children's Ministry offers Sunday school classes during the Sunday 10:00AM service for children ages 2-13 years. The ministry focuses on displaying the love of God in a practical way, while using lessons and activities that teach biblical principles.

The Youth Ministry (for teens age 13–18) meets on Wednesday evening at 7:00PM for Bible Study. They worship together with the adults, and then break off at 7:30PM to have their own Bible Study geared towards them.

The Third Rail is part of East Harlem Fellowship's Youth Ministry for teens ages 13–18. Many come in broken, lonely, lost, and rejected, but then discover the complete freedom, hope and love found in Jesus Christ. Several of the teens participate and serve in ministry through drama, street evangelism and other outreaches. The East Harlem Community faces a substantial problem concerning drug addiction. The Third Rail opens its doors to bring hope to the youth of El Barrio.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24–25).
