Short-term Missions Almost three centuries ago, one of the greatest movements in missions began as two young men sold themselves into a lifetime of slavery. They left behind the security of their jobs, their families and a promising life in Denmark to become the first Moravian missionaries. They boarded a ship as slaves in order to reach the slaves of the West Indies with the gospel. And as the ship pulled away from the docks, with family and friends begging them to stay, the men lifted a cry, “May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering!” Today, you and I face that same challenge to leave behind the comforts of our lives and respond to the highest calling of God in the earth—to go to people who have no helper and help them. That is why we invite you to pray about the many opportunities to go on a missions trip this year. Never has there been such a demand for short-term teams, nor a more urgent time for the church to respond. As the late Keith Green once said, “…unless God has called you to stay, then Christ’s great command to go and make disciples of all nations remains.” So jump in and join those who have gone before you. Visit those who have no helper and bring to God the reward of His great sacrifice. Now is the time!
Inspired by the words of Isaiah 61, these teams participate in
evangelistic trips that reach out to the poor, the
bound, and the brokenhearted. Anyone with a heart to serve and
share God’s love to those in need is welcome to sign up for a trip.
