Rain, hail or snow, the APC ministers faithfully at four services every week at Times Square Church. Renewed through prayer, worship and testimony whenever they meet together, the APC is living proof of God’s promise that “he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed” (Prov. 11:25 NIV).
These volunteer ministers are nurses, students, law enforcers, business professionals, homemakers, laborers and single mothers. Their stories are vastly different, but the conclusion is always the same – God calls the weak, lifts them from despair and puts a new song of praise in their mouths.
Fully persuaded of the gospel of Jesus, the APC is determined to encourage everyone who will hear that God is forever worthy of trust and our very best worship… in life and in song.
Directed by Gregory Thomas, the 140-member APC represents over 30 nationalities, reflecting the multinational, multicultural congregation of Times Square Church.
They minister weekly during the Sunday 10am and 6pm services, Tuesday 7pm service and Thursday 7pm prayer meeting.
Over the years the choir has participated in street outreaches in the local tri-state area, and on international missions to countries such as the Philippines, Zambia, Argentina and Scotland.
Whether you catch them at rehearsals, at "The Gate” youth service or on foreign soil on an international missions trip, the YPC’s passion for Jesus is contagious. Up for anything and everything, this praise choir is eager to show others the love of God... and singing is only the beginning.
At an annual street outreach in the Bronx, the YPC get their hands dirty in everything from face-painting to cotton candy to refereeing basketball. They want their generation to know that no matter where you come from and despite all stereotypes society puts on young people, that they have a future and a hope in Jesus Christ.
The bible verse printed on their choir shirts reminds them that this ministry is not just about great singing and songs of worship, but a radically different way of living. “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” (1 Tim 4:12)
Directed by Gregory Thomas and Dorian Johnson, the YPC consists of approximately 85 voices from over 20 different nationalities, ranging in age from 13 to 30. They minister weekly at Times Square Church at the Sunday 3pm service and at “The Gate” youth service on Friday nights at 7pm.
“…tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope.” Romans 5:3-4
More than a choir, more than just another ministry, the SPC is a loving community made up of those experienced in life who share a sincere empathy for one another and those they reach with their songs of hope.
Directed by Charlene Marcinko, the SPC is a team of enthusiastic singers over the age of 55 who minister at nursing homes around New York City and at Times Square Church on designated Sundays throughout the year.
What better way for children to testify of their simple faith in Jesus than in a choir just for kids! Directed by Larissa Cole and Angela Gilbert, the KPC is an opportunity for children to grow in their faith and knowledge of God, participate in ministry and even learn about music and singing.
The KPC currently consists of 60+ children from first through eighth grade. They minister during service at Times Square Church approximately once per quarter, and participate in several community outreaches throughout the year.
There is nothing quite as captivating as 100+ male singers declaring the wonders of God in thunderous harmony.
The MPC is a provisional choir formed for special seasonal and outreach presentations, and provides a perfect opportunity for men to not only participate in short term music ministry, but also experience a unique time of man-to-man fellowship and mutual encouragement.
