God, May I Have A Coat Please?

Featured

I  recently met a woman at the shelter who not only is addicted to heroin, but is also battling the AIDS virus.  As we sat down to converse, she began to share how badly she was in need  of a winter coat. She softly added that she had whispered a little prayer to God that morning requesting a coat. (Little did she know that our team had just brought a load of 30+ brand-new coats to distribute that evening) When she discovered what we had brought, she broke down weeping saying, “Did God really answer my prayer this morning?”  In a short moment,  together, we held hands as she let out a faint squeal through her tears of joy. We rejoiced!   God answered her prayer in a moment that she had least expected!  Later on that night, she asked for prayer that she would not be bound to her haunting drug addiction….Heroin, which she claims walks with her on a daily basis. She genuinely confessed that she doesn’t have the strength to stop using.  Lets believe that God will answer our prayers as we believe God for the deep cry in her heart to be freed from this addicting bondage. God  never ceases to amaze us!  We are believing for a miracle and that He will bring restoration and hope for her life!!

A Glimpse of Christmas

Featured

With Christmas approaching closer than we think…. We can witness the city’s busy streets buzzing with shoppers armed with loads of shopping bags packed with gifts…. waiting to find a spot under the tree. The atmosphere is swirling with the sounds of jingling bells, cheerful laughter, and perhaps even an occasional “Ho, Ho,Ho.” Surely you will capture the city richly dressed with twinkling lights, festive garlands, creative wreaths, and the faint echoes of traditional Christmas tunes as we make our way to our destinations…  We can sense that the spirit of Christmas is very present on every corner of this magnificent city. The Raven Ministry will have the privilege to bring a touch of Christmas and the love of Christ to our four designated NYC shelters. This week our teams will carefully assemble gifts and pack warm jackets for the shelter residents. In addition, a holiday menu is in the making, as a few volunteers busily prepare a wonderful holiday Christmas banquet for our wonderful guests to enjoy.  Not only will our guests experience a touch of Christmas with us, they  will be presented the most incredible gift one could ever imagine…..The gift of salvation, which Jesus Christ our Savior so graciously extends to all. . As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ this Christmas season, check out the blog  and take a glimpse of Christmas with Raven Ministry at one of our shelters!

A Music Ministry Leader

A music leader has shared that he received an opportunity to reach out to the homeless just recently.  On his route to work,  he passes by Penn Station where he has encountered  many homeless.  It has caused him to distribute bagged donated hero sandwiches and Gospel pamphlets to those who are hungry.  This has given him the opportunity to to share the Gospel and take prayer requests for those that he has been speaking with.  During the month of April, he has ministered God’s love and hope to approximately 35 precious souls!!!
