The distinguishing mark of a Christian and the only true identity and passport we have in the Kingdom of God is the love we have one for
another. The voice of God calls us to a Holy refusal and to come out of places of small fruit. We must rise up and refuse to live in strife
and bitterness and allow the power of God’s love and forgiveness to be evident in the way we deal with one another. God has called us
and He will bless us and make us a blessing by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Are you so comfortable in your Christianity that you are unwilling to get uncomfortable for the sake of bringing someone to Jesus? It is
important to press into to Jesus and breakthrough every obstacle not only for ourselves but for those who don’t know Jesus. God wants
to stir up your compassion for others so you can put your faith in action. When you are determined to bring someone to Jesus, faith will
make a way out of no way.
The thief has come to kill your future and family, to steal your joy and hope and to kill your effectiveness on earth. The devil will have
us believe we will always be in pursuit of a victory we will never catch. Today we are reminded that we have been given weaponry in
Christ to pursue the kingdom of darkness and pulldown strongholds. As the Church of Jesus Christ we should stop sniffling and stand
up against Satan because we have a General that is so powerful the mention of His name can fold up the universe. Everyone has a
plan until somebody punches them in the mouth—It’s time to punch the devil in the mouth.
When we think of Paradise we think of a wonderful blissful quality of life, void of difficulty and suffering. The truth is the life of a Christian
is a mixture of these two realities: there is absolute joy unspeakable and there is struggle and hardship. The problem with Paradise is
our perception of it. God desires us to prosper through the pain. We must cultivate a life that glorifies God and bring life to others.
We are living in an age of darkness and without God intervening, this generation will end up hopeless. We are up against a lawlessness
that sets itself against all that is from God. We must never lose sight that the battle we fight is for the souls of men. It doesn’t matter how
difficult life looks when we turn to God in prayer we are empowered to pull down every stronghold. We must take a stand by getting on
our knees to push back the darkness and bring about a season of mercy through prayer.
This message encourages us to know God in the high and holy places but also to know Him as our Father. God gives us the opportunity to
escape religion and enter into the love of Jesus. Religion causes us to focus on self and everything we do wrong. A true relationship with our
Father will cause us to understand even though we may fail God will be faithful to us.
The fight is on, as long as we have breath we will experience spiritual warfare. Therefore, we must be found in the secret place of God’s
presence. We are not to be ignorant of the devil’s devices. We must recognize them and resist every scheme through Jesus Christ. In the
heat of the battle don’t withdraw. Stay close to God, call upon His name and cultivate a courageous heart. Trust God and your storm will
become a story.
Jesus gave His life for us, to cleanse us from all impurity and to be Lord over every area of our lives. When we willfully disobey the revealed
Word of God we will develop a hard heart. Jesus said, “why do you call me Lord when you don’t do what I say?” If you find yourself in a
wilderness of mixture and sin God in His love will cause you to hit a wall. Today, Jesus invites you to surrender the control of your life to the
power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all.
The church of Jesus Christ began with the promise of a divine enablement to those who would turn from their sin and recognize Jesus
Christ as Savior and Lord. In the last days many will settle for an appearance of godliness and abandon God’s purpose for them on the
earth. We must beware of always learning but never allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us into the purpose and the place where truth will lead
us. In the last day’s the church we will end up where the church began––in the prayer room so that God’s power will be rediscovered. Let
us be a people full of the power of God so we can step into public view and point to Jesus Christ the Savior of the world.
There is a unique way a mother comforts her children and God links Himself with the pattern of a mother’s comfort. As we dig deeper into
the meaning of the word “comfort” we learn that when God comforts us as a mother comforts her children, the comfort we receive has
the power to change a heart, change a mind, change our conduct and transform us. Someone once said the heart of a mother is a deep
abyss in whom you will always find forgiveness. God our Father does not just sympathize, He does not leave us the way He finds us, He
transforms us by the power of His comfort and forgiveness.
God is our Father and fathers say, “no.” When God says no it’s not rejection, it’s protection. This is the bad math equation: a tough season
plus an open door doesn’t always mean God wants you to leave a hard place. Stay put and God will give you strength. The one that causes
the wounds can be the very one that heals the wounds when you choose to stay in the difficult places. Many times God’s “no” is a course
It’s imperative to know the voice of God and to recognize the day of His visitation. Prayerlessness is thievery, it robs us of the power we can
receive from being in God’s presence and believing God’s promises. We are living in the day of God’s power, and He is calling His church
back to Himself. It’s vital to get back to the prayer meeting and get out of every place that is weakening our testimony. The strength of God’s
Kingdom is found in the prayer meeting. Will you be a volunteer is the day of God’s power?
Have you deviated from the path of God in pursuit of self? If we don’t get the self-focus out of our heart, we will begin to create
Christ that will accommodate our selfish pursuit and we will end up in a dry place. Today, if you have this cry in your heart, “God
speak to us, we are dry and we have lost our confidence and our joy is almost gone.” God’s answer to you is, “Hear the Word of the
God desires to give you a power source that is not your own. He will bring you up out of every place where death has reigned.
There is a difference between the message of Christ and all the other religions that are available to humankind. God almighty in the
power of the Holy Spirit is not only willing to save us but He is willing to indwell us and transform us from the inside out. If you have
you, the Hope of Glory, that is God’s way of making Himself known to others who are outside of His Kingdom. Christ in us gives us
power to break every bondage, endure every storm and empowers our speech to bring light to others who are captivated in
As the people of God, we have lost our focus. We have lost sight of our condition and our calling. It’s imperative to rediscover our
in Christ and what God ‘s purpose is for us in the earth. If you open the door of your heart God will open the scriptures to you, give
understanding and bring you into a place of power. Let your cry be, “Lord anoint my eyes, show me Your purpose for my life and
a heart to do the work of an evangelist.”
Our nation is experiencing a breakdown of decency, morality and civility. In the very near future sin will have its full expression
creating the last worldwide rebellion against the Lordship of Jesus Christ. In the midst of it all, there will be a people who will
rediscover that we are the Church of the Living God, and the Christ who triumphed over sin and Satan, lives inside of us. We, as
God’s people, have power in prayer to turn this hellish agenda back and make it bend its’ knee to Christ. If we will pray God will hear.
We must stand in prayer against all that threatens our future, family, city and our nation. Let’s give our hearts and time to pray and
believe God for a spiritual awakening.
Have you ever heard a Word from God and you went out in faith only to feel like God didn’t go with you? There are moments when you
will do everything right only to have everything go wrong and the first step of obedience will feel like you made a mistake. Sometimes we
feel like we are kicked over by God but don’t give up God is teaching you to get up and keep going. God always delivers His people and
your story is never over because He is writing it.
What are these dreams that old men will dream? The Holy Spirit will give you divine revelation and power to speak to the next
generation. If our hearts are turned inward we will lose vision and power, but when our heart turns to the children of this generation God
will pour out His Spirit upon us. Pastor Carter gives an illustrated sermon of his life’s journey to encourage us to speak into the lives of
our family and to influence another generation.
This message comes with a warning. The world as we know it is going to plunge into an unspeakable darkness. Israel will soon be
encompassed by enemy armies. Jesus warned us in the last days that many false prophets are going to arise and many people will
be deceived because they are not in the Word of God. There is power in the Word of God to bring life, strength and direction. The
promises of God are there for you to establish your thoughts so you can get through your day. We can't live on yesterday's bread,
that’s why Jesus told us to pray, “Father give us this day our daily bread.” Let’s get into the Word of God and allow the Word of God to
get into us.
Do you find yourself dwelling in a booth between bondage and freedom? Do you have an element of your former bondage that is still
clinging to you and your exhausted from trying to be a good Christian? All God requires of you is a heart that thirsts for is Kingdom.
When your heart is dry and thirsty and you have nothing left to help yourself God will invite you to come to Him and He will be all the
supply and resource you will ever need. As you open your heart to God’s promises life from within will start to spring forth onto others
who are thirsty to hear the good news of the Gospel.
We are living in a perilous and dark moment in history and all around us evil speech is permeating the air. As the Body of Christ we must
not get swept away in this bitter division. Our cry should be God gives us the Grace to be your Ambassadors of forgiveness and
reconciliation. Just as Joseph’s father gave him a coat with many colors so did God the Father give His Son Jesus a Body of all colors.
Love and unity among God’s people gives us a testimony that burns bright and brings Glory to Jesus.
When you’re in the middle of serving God and the devil tries to sabotage your service and commitment to God don’t be surprised if a
snake jumps up to bite you. God will establish a platform of your suffering to become a testimony. Nothing the devil throws your way will
be able to harm you. When a snake jumps up to bite you look to the Victory of the Cross, keep on serving and God will give you all the
power you need to shake it off. In the midst of a fiery trial allow God to make you a demonstration of His Grace.
You started out with such fervor and fire for the Kingdom of God and now you find yourself living on Had-Hoped Street. Had Hoped
Street is easy to find, it intersects with Too Late Lane, Despair Drive and Bitterness Blvd. Just travel on Personal Excuse Expressway
and get off wherever you like. To continue your journey study the bible, listen to its direction for your life and then go another way.
Today Jesus will meet you where you are and offer you a way out. We begin our departure when Jesus opens our eyes to the fact that
He was broken for us and He is inviting us to be broken for others. When we, even in our confusion make the choice to live for the
benefit of others Jesus comes into full view again.
What is this grand conspiracy forming in the world today? What is the source of this agitation? Satan has succeeded in sowing his
character in humanity that says we can be our own judge and determine for ourselves what is good and what is evil. The only
impediment to this misguided journey in this society is now on God and His people who stand in stark contrast showing the world
there is a God, and there is something called sin. Sin separates us from God, not just in time but for eternity. There is only one King
in this world and Jesus is the only King that can show mercy to a sinner and declare them forgiven and cleansed. If you are a
casual Christian living in compromise the Holy Spirit will help you escape the boundaries of your own stubbornness and empower
you to live in the boundaries of God's kingdom.
In between asking God for something and receiving what we asked for, there is a gap of time where we can become angry,
confused, and hopeless waiting for God to answer our prayer. Because God is a loving Father, He will never give us a position or
possession that our immaturity could sabotage. When you ask God for something, you won’t get the thing you asked for right away,
instead you will get a journey to get you ready for the thing you’re asking for. While you’re waiting, ask God to grow you and trust
that God’s timing is the best timing for you.
How much do you esteem God's purpose for your life? When the American Church abdicated their purpose; when we lost the fervency to preach the Gospel and the passion to save the lost, we opened the door for
deception and imposters. In our slumber, swindlers crept into the church and they grabbed pulpits by deceit which were not rightfully theirs.
There is something that is coming to this society that is God induced and Spirit inspired. If you are restless and tired of pretending your living in victory, don't be ashamed to lift up your voice and call out to God, He
will break the yoke of bondage off your neck, bless you and make you a blessing.
We are living in a moment of history where we must understand the largeness of God’s heart. When we pray, what would it be like if we stopped asking God to do something, and simply agreed with Him for what He has
already determined to do? As we learn to obey the Lord’s promptings, we will spend more time in prayer saying “Yes Lord” than asking Him to do something. The future of this nation will always be connected with the
prayers of God’s people. God is initiating a moment in history where He desires to be merciful, when we begin to pray “Yes Lord” and become fully engaged with the work of God, those around us will bow their heads
and begin to worship Him.
The Bible is God speaking to us. If we do not read the Bible how will we know His voice and obey His Word? As we draw near to God,
He will speak to us from a place of mercy. Successful living comes by reading, studying, and obeying God’s Word. The benefits of
reading God’s word is joy, healing, purity and freedom. As we begin the new year, be intentional on setting time aside to read God’s
word and pray every day.
As believers we are to be a people separated to the holy things of God. It’s such a tragedy when the Church of Jesus Christ becomes mixed in with the value system of the world and becomes a prey to a false seductive form of cheap grace. In the year 2017 it is time to decide to be the people of God and trust the Holy Spirit for the power to turn away from everything that is called sin. When we turn back to the place where God has called us, we come to the realization that God is willing to give us the power we need, not only to be blessed, but to become a blessing to others. In 2017 choose to walk out of compromise and to embrace Jesus.
The night shift is symbolic of an undesired place of loneliness and failure. The birth of Jesus brings us good news of great joy. Jesus wraps Himself in the rags of humanity and comes to us in the places of our deepest struggles, failures, and disappointments. He is willing to indwell us so He can be God to us. This Christmas, come with haste to the invitation of the Good News of Jesus Christ and you will be forgiven and given a wonderful new life.
As humans we have a tendency to become bored with the familiar. There is a grave danger of taking the presence of God for granted. God forbid that we should be involved in God’s works with a passionless repetition. The only thing that can stop the work of God in our lives is the lethargy in our own hearts. This is not the time to draw back, we must press into the future because God has something deeper and greater for us than ever before. If we are willing to overcome the compromise in our hearts, God will open up a supply of His Spirit and the lamp of our testimony will burn brighter and brighter.
When God came to earth, in the form of His Son Jesus Christ, the veil was suddenly torn and Heaven came into view. The first veil
was Heaven coming to us, the second veil was torn so that we are no longer separated from the presence of God. The third veil is
that which separates us from the fullness of what we are called to be in Christ Jesus. God has won a victory that takes us out of
every place of weakness and brings us into His redemptive power. May we find ourselves in a place of prayer, anticipating the
power of the Holy Spirit so we can burst out of the veil of obscurity and step into the market place and begin to talk about the
wonderful things that God is about to do.
Have you ever had someone who was acting like a punk, activate the punk in you? We all have a punkish tendency; the Bible calls it sin. Under the right circumstances we will do the wrong thing because we were all born with a sinful nature. The Just and loving God can be found at the Cross where justice, punished the sin and love, saved the sinner. God saves us and then places a calling on our life and through the process, the punk in us diminishes, and the spirit of Christ flourishes. Because of Bethlehem we know the day and the way God saved us from our sins.
God’s ways are not always easy to understand and we may never get an explanation for some of the dark valleys we go through, but we can trust that God knows what is best for us. In times of trials and afflictions, God is teaching us to depend on Him. If we are going to represent God we must be prepared to partaker in His suffering. Through the process God is producing something inside of us to help us minister to others. The answer to your suffering is the simple fact that God is faithful and through it all He will give us all we need to get through every trial and storm.
One of the enemy’s main tactics to discourage us and keep us from growing in ministry, is to constantly condemn the righteous. The enemy will constantly point out our fears so that we begin to lose confidence and trust in Christ, who is our Salvation. No weapon will prosper against us. because we have been given the Righteousness and Holiness of God, as a gift because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross, for us. Our Heavenly Father has assigned us a place in Christ to rightly condemn the condemner. The next time the Devil comes to condemn you, it is your privilege to shut him up and shut him down in Jesus Name!
As believers in Jesus Christ we should be concerned for the spiritual future of this nation and for the souls of those who are lost. We just recognize that the testimony of Jesus Christ has little strength and consider that the beginning of a spiritual awakening is when we in humility admit our condition. In this moment of time we are given a choice, Jesus has set before us an open door. Do we stay in our smallness or do we get up in faith and walk through the open door into the victory of the Cross? As God’s people we have a responsibility to get up and believe God for the power to find the full purpose that He has for our life.
Do you have a deep desire to be a clean vessel for God? Are you willing to put away evil practices, ungodly relationships, and unclean speech? If we regard iniquity in our heart and give place to wrong behavior God will not hear our prayers, but if we order our conduct God will command a blessing and cause us to bring glory to His name. True prayer will bring honor to Jesus Christ again. We are desperate for a spiritual awakening and it’s the only thing that will save this nation. We must find our unity at the Cross and trust God for the power to look and sound more like Jesus.
As a nation we have turned away from God, that’s why truth doesn’t matter much anymore. We are at the edge of losing the awareness of God because the majority of our society is godless. The human heart has the capability of becoming so hard that some people will not admit that God’s ways are right and repent of their sin. Wisdom is God’s Presence, Spirit and Knowledge in society and it cries out for a response. Today, if you hear the voice of wisdom don’t hardened you heart. God will never laugh at an honest heart no matter how deep your struggle is. Whoever opens their heart to His wisdom will dwell safely and be secure without fear of evil.
Do you find it difficult to pray? The bad news is none of us really know how to pray. The good news is the Holy Spirit is our helper in prayer. Our prayer will always come up short in power and emotion, but God is committed to take our prayers beyond our simple words and add power to it. When we pray, it’s important to remember it’s not about the one who is praying, but it’s about the one we are praying to. The only way we can fail in prayer, is if we don’t show up to pray.
The church of Jesus Christ is going to recover and discover their strength in God alone. For too long we have been too strong. We can be confident in our ability to a certain point until we face something that’s beyond our ability. When we get to a place where we have nothing left but a confidence in God, He will take us in our weakness and become our strength. Victory comes when in our feebleness we enter into His victory.
Sometimes we are more committed to the high seat than we are committed to serve. If you make an effort to exalt yourself, God will humble you, but if you take the low seat you are putting yourself in a great position to be used by God. The key to compelling others into the kingdom is a humble spirit. Our love for others must come from the love we have for Jesus. In the high place we are motivated to get something in return but in the low place we serve others for the Glory of God. If we are compelled by the love of the Jesus we will be empowered to compel others to the Cross.
Spiritual depression is something that can happen to the godliest among us. It can afflict those whose hearts are tender and passionate for truth, and who long for a return to right living in their society. If left unabated, spiritual depression can lead to isolation from everyone and everything. We are exhorted in the book of Hebrews; Do not neglect the assembling of yourselves. Don’t try to go at it alone! As you come through these dark places, there will be a compassion deposited in your heart from the suffering, that was never there before. You will begin to recognize that, without God, I can do nothing. But with God I can do all things!
There are no coincidences with God, His hand is in every situation. Through the life of Paul, we learn that we have been captivated for a divine purpose and if Christ is in us, then God’s purpose for us cannot be stopped by hard circumstances. When we stop asking God to get us out of where we are and allow Him to show us the reason why He’s positioned us in difficult situations, our lives become a lighthouse that guides others out of danger and darkness. Don’t think what you’re going through is strange, like Paul, use your place of captivation as an opportunity to spread the Gospel and free those around you from their chains.
When Jesus is being crucified on Calvary, He cries, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken Me?” In that statement you can hear
the brokenness of His heart. In the Book of Luke, third and fourth chapter, we find that He was filled with the Spirit; He was led by the Spirit. Everything that Jesus did, He did by the Spirit. Every single one of us, if we live right in Christ Jesus, are going to have to endure times, when we wonder, ‘God, where are you?’ How do I know that my complaint is not a complaint against God, but one that is instead orchestrated by God; inspired by God; breathed by God; drawn out by God, because it’s marshalled by God. It’s funneled by God, so that it flows a certain way.
We know that the Holy Spirit is inspiring our cry when we can say ‘Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done. As long as I allow the tears to be Spirit-led – the key is to never cry alone.
“Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you’” (Genesis 12:1). In spite of this incredible promise, the descendants of Abraham ended up in another place and in another spiritual condition serving their taskmasters. Like many of God’s people, you may have settled in a place that is far short of what you’re called to be, and you’re doing things that you know you shouldn’t be doing. A little bit of sexual play, a little snort; a little peek, what can it hurt? Then these things that offered you comfort become your taskmaster.
God in His mercy would not leave His own people in captivity, and neither will He leave you in captivity when you make the choice to cry out to Him. So cry out to Him. God will free you and take you on an incredible journey. It won’t be a journey where you’re always running from your former enemies, but a journey with a song and a vision that will give you endurance to get through even the hottest fire and the deepest river.
When we are facing a flood of godlessness trying to purport itself as good; when we are at a moment in history when we are being marginalized; when we are being vilified; when we are being pushed to the side-lines of society, Jesus Christ, because of His mercy, will make His church aware of our need of Him again.
By mercy and grace, just like he did with Paul, God will allow this buffeting of His body to finally bring us to the place of saying, “God, we can’t do this without you!” To finally bring us to the place where we, in humility, go back to prayer again.
Humankind typically despises weakness. We have a tendency throughout history to shun the simplicity of faith, and gravitate to something more visual, more hands-on, more self-satisfying. Do we live our whole life trying to get out of the very things that God has sent to make us strong?
God says, I have to make you weak first, so you can be strong because your strength is not in yourself! Your strength is in Me; it’s in the power of My Spirit within your life. But it only comes when we are out of the way. It’s the ultimate irony in a sense, when we become weak, we become strong.
The plan of Satan is to steal, to kill, and to destroy everyone that belongs to Christ. The problem is that so many times we are looking at the front door that we don’t see how God is protecting us behind the scenes. Our response to this invisible war is prayer. Pray and let God worry about it. We are so ready to praise God for what we know He is doing that we forget to praise Him for what we don’t know He is doing for us. Sometimes we just need to thank God for taking care of that stuff we don’t know about. Praise Him for what you don’t even know is happening. Our job is not to figure it out. All God wants us to do, is thank Him.
It was right after the resurrection that Jesus showed Himself to His disciples and He began to give them some insight as to what the Father had planned for His Kingdom. And He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.”
We must be open to the idea that God as our Father reserves the right to bring us into seasons according to His own wisdom. He knows what’s best for us, even though things don’t change at the rate we want them to change, we have a promise from Jesus. In every season and through every trial we are given the power to be a witness for God.
The Holy Spirit is given to us so we can overcome every adversity and become martyrs. A martyr is someone who is not interested in holding on to their own life, but has been given the power of the Holy Spirit to lay their life down for others and become witnesses for Jesus Christ. God begins to change us within, so we can change the world around us.
How are you preparing yourself to come to church on Sunday morning? We need to remember we come together to bless one another. Psalm 133 says, “how good it is to dwell in unity,” it does not say how easy it is. If unity is the place where God blesses, we have a choice to make. Will I be a life breaker or a life builder? The supernatural unity God gives will be a magnet to draw people together and it will help us to stay focused on building up the Body of Christ and saving the lost. We must never take lightly the freedom and blessing we have to come together.
