| 250 people from Times Square Church, including Pastor Carter Conlon and ninety-nine members of the choir traveled to Lusaka, Zambia for evangelistic rallies, pastors’ conferences and outreaches. The evangelistic rallies took place from Friday to Sunday, October 29-31, 2004.
Outreach teams ministered in a medical clinic, orphanages, hospitals, prisons and churches. The teams traveled 17,000 miles to hug orphans whose parents have died of AIDS, and comfort patients dying of this dreaded disease that has reduced the life-expectancy in Zambia to thirty-nine years. Some cried with prisoners hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time.
These outreaches were not about what Times Square Church brought to the people of Zambia, but about the God that sent us there to tell them a simple message:
"This is the year of your freedom.”
